NYLaughs curates a carnival of comedy to Lincoln Center for Brazil Week on July 16, headlined by none other than Rafi Bastos — one of the most influential and widely respected comedians in the world.

A trailblazing actor, journalist, and stand-up powerhouse, Rafi is among the 30 most-watched comedians on YouTube, with over 250 million views. At the height of his Twitter fame, The New York Times named him one of the most influential people on the platform. He’s joined by a vibrant lineup of South American voices: Brazilian firecracker Jade Catta-Preta, Colombian-Canadian-American Santi Espinosa, Colombian comedian Pedro Gonzalez and Luz Pazos, bringing bold laughs “straight outta the Andes” to NYC. Guiding us through the night is none other than Pietra Parker, NYC’s Brazilian drag bombshell bringing fun, glam, and a whole lotta sparkle to the stage.

Get ready for a night of rhythm, joy, and unforgettable comedy from Brazil and beyond. Lincoln’s about to get loud. Come laugh like you mean it.

Rafi Bastos Headliner

Rafi Bastos is one of Brazil’s most celebrated comedians, with over 250 million YouTube views and 11 million Twitter followers—earning him a spot on The New York Times’ list of the world’s most influential people. He’s produced and starred in hit TV shows, films, and stand-up specials, including multiple Netflix releases like The Life of Rafinha Bastos and Internet: The Movie. Now based in Los Angeles, Rafi performs regularly at top comedy clubs and is the former host of Netflix’s Ultimate Beastmaster.

Pietra Parker Host

Pietra Parker, the stage persona of Doug Gam, is a Brazilian-born drag queen, performer, and host based in New York City. Inspired by the glamorous and empowered Latina women of Brazil, she has quickly become one of the city’s standout entertainers—performing alongside icons like Pabllo Vittar and Whindersson Nunes, and winning titles such as Drag Wars All Stars and The Ultimate Drag Pageant in 2019. Pietra is the creator and host of Reinas, a weekly Latin drag show at Hush in Hell’s Kitchen, and a fierce advocate for Latin representation in the NYC drag scene.

Jade Catta Preta

Jade Catta-Preta is a Brazilian-born comedian and actress who performs stand-up in both English and Portuguese across the U.S., Brazil, and beyond. She’s the former host of E!’s The Soup and currently hosts Hulu’s spicy dating show Hotties. Jade has appeared on hit shows like Modern Family, Californication, Manhattan Love Story, and was a regular on MTV’s Girl Code and Punk’d, among many others.

Santi Espinosa

Based in New York City, Columbian – Canadian – American Santi Espinosa is a multilingual stand-up comedian known for his honest, anecdotal, and deeply personal style. He hosts the hit showcase ItMatters Comedy and has performed everywhere from dive bars across North America to sold-out clubs in London. Whether it’s an intimate crowd or a packed house, Santi delivers laughs that transcend language and borders.

Pedro Gonzalez

Pedro Gonzalez is a Colombian American comedian based out of NYC. Besides touring the country as a stand up, Pedro is a staff writer on Freevee’s hit show Primo, based on the life of NY Times best seller Shea Serrano. He was a finalist on Stand Up NBC and New York Funniest, and also has the honor of being the first Latin American immigrant comedian to appear on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

 

Luz Pazos

Straight outta the Andes, Luz Pazos is a Peruvian powerhouse of comedy lighting up stages across the U.S. She’s been a finalist on Stand-Up NBC, featured on Kroll Show, Comedy Chingonas on HBO Max, and is a regular at top clubs like The Comedy Store and Laugh Factory. A former (very former) beauty queen with degrees she’ll never use—except maybe for the men—Luz blends her global perspective with bold, bilingual punchlines that leave audiences howling from LA to Lima.
