Fumi Abe is a Japanese-American stand-up comedian and writer based in Los Angeles. Named one of Vulture’s Comedians You Should and Will Know in 2023, he was also selected as part of the prestigious Just For Laughs New Faces class of 2023.
Fumi has appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Dropout’s Smarty Pants. As a writer, he previously served as a Staff Writer for The Late Late Show with James Corden and, most recently, was a Story Editor on Seth MacFarlane’s animated series Ted.
His writing credits also include NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!, the 2022 TIME100 Gala hosted by Simu Liu, the ESPYs, and Wieden+Kennedy’s Lost in McDonaldland series. In addition to stand-up, Fumi co-hosts the comedy and personal finance podcast Cash Cuties and previously co-hosted the acclaimed podcast Asian Not Asian.
He has toured nationally alongside comedians including Ronny Chieng, Ilana Glazer, Iliza Shlesinger, Tom Papa, and Hannah Berner.
