NYLaughs is excited to be back this summer with its highly anticipated series of free comedy performances, offering New Yorkers a much-needed laughter intervention! NYLaughs is thrilled to join forces with Lincoln Center for it’s summer programming for our fourth year, a celebration of collaboration and giving back to the community. Our calendar has expanded to 8 nights.  Now New Yorkers have a place to laugh every Wednesday at 8pm.  Best of all, admission to all shows is free!

This remarkable program is made possible by the generous support of various organizations. Lizz Winstead Headliner

Lizz Winstead is a renowned American comedian, writer, and producer. She co-created “The Daily Show” in 1996, revolutionizing political satire on television. Winstead’s sharp wit and keen insight into current events have made her a prominent voice in comedy. Beyond her contributions to television, she is a co-founder of Lady Parts Justice, an organization that uses humor and advocacy to promote reproductive rights. Winstead continues to be an influential figure in both comedy and activism. Winstead co-hosts the Abortion Access Front podcast “Feminist Buzzkills Live!”, which “break[s] down the weekly news from patriarchy’s evil trilogy of misogyny, white supremacy, and anti-abortion extremism.”



Sydnee Washington Host

Sydnee Washington, born in New York City and raised in Oakland, California, is a dynamic comedian and host. She hosts the Instagram Live show “SYD CAN COOK” and Headgum’s podcast “Hobby Hunter.” Sydnee co-hosts the popular podcast “The Unofficial Expert,” where she delves into topics such as flirting, online dating, cookouts, and more. She was recently honored as an “UpNext” comedian at Comedy Central’s Clusterfest and has hosted a weekly comedy show at the Knitting Factory. Sydnee also appears in the current season of TruTV’s “Laff Mobb Laugh Tracks.” Her work has been recommended by The New York Times, Time Out, New York Post and W.



Vannessa Jackson

Vannessa Jackson is a comedian and writer currently working on the 49th season of “Saturday Night Live.” Her previous writing credits include “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” “A Little Late with Lilly Singh,” and a writing apprenticeship on the fourth season of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Prior to moving to New York, Vannessa developed her writing and entertainment industry skills as a writer for E! television networks.



Monroe Martin

Monroe Martin is a rising colorful and imaginative comedy star known for his appearances on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central’s Adam Devine’s House Party, MTV’s Guy Code, TV Land’s The Jim Gaffigan Show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Netflix’s Master of None, and AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live. His work has earned him respect within the comedy circuit, making him one of the most promising comedians of his generation.Monroe has had a lifetime of hard knock experiences that have been spun into side-splitting jokes and stories as a foster child who grew up in group homes and  jumped around from one dysfunctional family to another.  Monroe’s honest and open approach to jokes and storytelling universalizes his experiences. 



Sureni Weerasekera

Sureni Weerasekera is a Sri Lankan-born stand-up comedian known for her lighthearted banter and dark humor. She has performed at major festivals like Netflix is a Joke, San Francisco Sketchfest and New York Comedy Festival, and is a regular at top comedy clubs including San Francisco Punchline and Cobb’s Comedy Club. She has opened for prominent comedians like Hari Kondabolu and Ashley Gavin, and worked with Amazon Prime, META, and HBO. Sureni recently completed the 2023-2024 Hot & Funny Tour and is active on the college circuit. She created and starred in “Plant Mom Exposed” and “Medium Roasts,” and runs the monthly show Earth Tones at Union Hall in Brooklyn, NY. In 2023, Gold Comedy named her one of “23 Comedians to Watch.” She’s a regular with the college circuit with KP Comedy.
