NYLaughs, the city’s premier source of laughter, is excited to announce its upcoming spring comedy event in partnership with Battery Park City Authority at 6 Terrace Park. As the days get longer and the city blooms with new life, comedy enthusiasts and New Yorkers alike can look forward to an entertaining lineup of talent, guaranteed to bring a breath of fresh springtime air and laughter to your evenings.

NYLaughs is thrilled to join forces with Battery Park City Authority for it’s spring programming, a celebration of collaboration and giving back to the community. Best of all, admission to all shows is free!

Cory Kahaney Headliner

Cory Kahaney has appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and David Letterman. Other television appearances include CONAN, This Week at the Comedy Cellar, The View and The Late, Late Show. with Craig Ferguson. Cory was a grand finalist NBC’s Last Comic Standing and a semifinalist on America’s got Talent. She has comedy specials on Comedy Central and HBO. As a public speaker, Cory presented a Tedx called “The Joke that Saved my Life” chronicling her journey from domestic abuse to a comedy career. Awards: voted best comedian in NYC by Backstage Magazine and Best female comedian by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets. Cory has also been featured numerous times at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, the Johnny Carson Festival, The Halifax comedy Festival and every year at the Nantucket Comedy Festival.

Chanel Ali Host

Chanel Ali is a stand up comedian, actress, and writer based in New York City. Ali gained popularity after hosting the Food Network digital series “Food Debate!” and being featured on MTV’s “Girl Code”. In 2019, she won the “New Face” award in the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. Ali can also be seen making appearances on Comedy Central’s “Taking the Stage”, Refinery 29’s “Speak Up”, and on the Netflix series “Dash & Lily.” Her debut comedy album “Chanel No.1” debuted at #2 in 2020. Ali’s solo comedy debut was made this year when she released an hour long comedy special on Epix.

Jaye McBride

Jaye is funny, smart and proudly transgender. She is one of “Just for Laughs’ New Faces” for 2021. One of the first trans comedians to work on a national level, she performs both as a headliner and is a regular at New York City’s “Comedy Cellar”. Jaye has been a part of The Boston Comedy Festival, The Maine Comedy Festival and the Great American Festival. In addition to stand-up, Jaye speaks at high schools, colleges and groups all across the country about being transgender and how we can help trans kids from facing some of the obstacles and challenges she faced. Having transitioned in 2007, Jaye is uniquely qualified to talk about awkward first dates, strained family relationships and self-acceptance.

Alison Leiby

Alison Leiby is a stand-up and writer in New York. She has written for the “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “The President Show”,” The Opposition with Jordan Klepper,” and many other television shows. She opened for Ilana Glazer on her recent tour and was a producer on her Amazon special “The Planet Is Burning.” Her humor writing has appeared in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Vice, and many other publications. She produces and hosts the monthly comedy-storytelling show “It’s a Long Story.”

Emmy Blotnick

Emmy Blotnick is a stand-up comedian and writer based out of New York. She is a staff writer and performer on the “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” She’s appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Conan” and her Comedy Central “Half Hour”. Emmy has been highlighted as one of Comedy Central’s “Comics to Watch” and a “New Face” at “Just For Laughs in Montreal. Her debut comedy album “Party Nights” is available to stream now. Emmy Blotnick most recently served as a supervising producer on the upcoming FX comedy series “English Teacher” and previously worked on the Peacock animated series “In the Know.” She has also written for various shows, including “History of the World: Part 2” for Hulu, “Bust Down” for Peacock, and “Pause with Sam Jay” for HBO.
